We are on the hunt for an experienced and skilled Automotive Mechanic.
Duties
- Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
- Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.
- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components and referring to service manuals as needed.
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
- Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired.
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.
- Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers.
- Providing customer service support at reception where required.
- Maintain high standard of housekeeping.
- Ensure all mechanical equipment is maintained and in good working condition.
- Work with care and consideration of own health and safety and that of others.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair.
- Observe Company policy and procedures.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Current and valid manual drivers licence
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and specialist equipment
- High attention to detail and a can do attitude
- Must have good people and communication skills
- Sound computer skills

Description
To carry out the fitting, balancing, repairs, wheel alignments and general servicing of tyres and ancillary products. Achieving a high standard of customer satisfaction by adding value to both the business and the customer.
Responsibilities
- Repairing, replacing and fitting vehicle tyres.
- Perform wheel alignments testing and make adjustments.
- Performing seasonal tyre changeovers.
- Selling car and general tyres.
- Performing tyre diagnostics (e.g. checking tyre condition, pressure and tread depth).
- Checking and adjusting wheel balance, alignment and rotation.
- Inflating vehicle tyres.
- Helping customers to choose products that meet their requirements.
- Safe use and handling of equipment and tools.
- Ensuring the worksite and associated equipment is clean, safe, tidy, and ready for use.
- Undertaking and completing assigned tasks either individually or in a team environment.
- Compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Good workshop housekeeping.
Skills
- High attention to detail coupled with a robust ability to work autonomously.
- Effective communication and able to work collaboratively within a strong team environment.
- Must be Reliable, Motivated and Possess a Strong Work Ethic.
Qualifications and Experience
- Prior experience working within a trade is desirable.

Earthmoving/Truck Tyre Fitter

Duties include:
- Perform tyre and wheel changes on trucks and earth moving equipment.
- Fitting, balancing, repairing and servicing tyres.
- Providing advice and reporting potentially dangerous risks to customer’s tyres.
- Safely operating hoists and conducting road tests as required.
- Travel between locations and do call out work.
- Fit for Work – Ability to perform requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Qualifications &/or Experience
- Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology (desirable but not essential).
- Experience in truck and earthmoving tyre fitting.
- OTR Grab Truck experience.
- Valid and current drivers’ licence.
- MR class licence (desirable).
- Forklift licence (desirable).
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).

Duties
- Assists customers in determining their tyre and mechanical needs, answering any questions they might have and make product recommendations.
- Perform tyre fitting duties including repairs, wheel balancing, and wheel alignments.
- Handling of phone calls in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
- Organise and book appointments as required for both tyre and mechanical workshops.
- Generate invoices and receive accurate payments.
- Process Day End procedures.
- Maintain accurate client records, provide reports on actions and activities as required.
- Meet and exceed your set KPI's.
- Inspect any warranties.
- Assist with staff training as required.
- Acquire product knowledge through training and self-study.
- Undergo any training as considered necessary to enhance your work performance.
- Conduct basic mechanical servicing as required.
- Conduct mechanical inspections following provided checklists.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications &/or Experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in retail and sales.
- Valid and current manual drivers’ licence.
- Experience as a tyre fitter, tyre salesperson, service coordinator or similar.
